Busy, Busy, Busy

Okay.... so I am terrible at blogging.  I apologize to everyone who has been checking and finding that I haven't posted anything.  I would promise to be better, but my track record isn't very good.  So....

Below are a couple pictures that I took while my sister-in-law, LaDonna, was here taking care of M and the rest of the family.  M would let me fix her hair but she would pull it back out almost as fast I got it put up.  But she loved (and left it up) when "Donna" did it her pigtails or "ponytails" as she calls them.  Of course she probably knew that "Donna" would just put it back up as soon as she took it down and knew that it would be a losing battle. HA!

The finished product.  Isn't she cute???

Here is my big princess, ready for her first day of 8th grade.  Did I just write 8th grade??  Where or where are the years going?  They are going by so fast.

Leave M alone for 5 minutes (or even 1 minute) and she can find something to do and it is usually not good.  C left her PERMANENT markers on the table the night before.  While I was out of the room, M picked out a loved pink color and proceeded to show her artwork.  Isn't it lovely?  And guess what?  It won't wash off.  Guess we will be painting this wall again at some point.  She looks pretty proud of herself, doesn't she?

M is Mommy's big helper.  She is the one who notices McGregor is out of food and water.  She will bring us the bowl and we go get his food.  She loves to scoop it.  We have to watch her though or she will just keep scooping and scooping until it is all over the floor.  Then she carries it back and puts it where it belongs.  She also loves to give him his daily greenie and treats.  She takes care of him better than C does.

M loves her big sis and wants to do whatever C is doing.  When C is in a good mood, she has more patience for M.  Sometimes after C has been gone all day, M will go to C's room and knock on the door asking to come in and usually C lets her.  Here is a picture of C looking through her Seventeen Magazine, as M looks on.  Wonder if M will be the fashionista that her big sis is???

Fall is in the air.  The mornings are cooler and we are able to play outside both morning and evening without it being too hot.  It is especially nice because her playset is not too hot to get on.  It is amazing how hot the plastic stuff can get.  This morning M had dumped all her blocks on the floor.  I told her that if she would pick all of them up and put the bag in her toy box we would go outside and play.  I told you she is a big helper.  So clean up she did and a good job she did at that.  Climbing up the fort...

and going down the slide.....

and chasing poor McGregor around the yard.  He loves when she takes a nap in the afternoon and he finally gets some peace and quiet.  Poor dog!

This is what is left of my yard swing.  The cushion and the cover dry rotted and we threw them away.  I am guessing that this might be the last year for this poor swing.  But M certainly still enjoys it.  But she could not entice the dog to swing with her.  No way  no how!!!!

Moving from the back yard to the front yard, she decided to ride her 4-wheeler.  She is just starting to get the hang of this, although she still hasn't learned to steer.  This picture was taken just before she drove into the house.  We also got out the soccer ball and kicked it around the front yard for a little while.  She is certainly one busy kid.

The latest update on me is that I think I am almost back to normal, whatever normal is.  My potassium seems to be normal for the time being.  I am still following the high potassium diet, which means no potatoes (regular or sweet), no tomatoes or tomato based products,  no bananas and no chocolate.  Okay, I confess, I cheat a little, but  not too much.  I am very proud of myself.  I haven't had any french fries or potato products in nearly 3 weeks.  I have had a slice of pizza here and there and I had a little ketchup Sunday night with some onion rings.  But all in all,I am handling that better than I thought I would.

I went last Wednesday and had an ultrasound of my thyroid.  It seems that when I had the CT scan of my lungs they saw something on my thyroid.  According to  my kidney doctor, there is definitely several nodules on my thyroid.  So she is referring me to an endocrinologist surgeon.  This doctor will decide whether she wants to biopsy the thyroid or just re-check it in a few months.  I am still waiting to hear about when the appointment is.  So the Tonja Saga continues.....  In the meantime, I am a busy mom taxi-ing C around to all her "things"..... soccer, church, and cheer.  She will be cheering for the basketball teams at her school this year for the first time.  Just what we needed one more thing to do.  But I am hoping that she enjoys this.  I think she will be good at it.
